On Ashar 30, 2079, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal drew the government’s attention to the need for necessary preparations to minimize the risks of monsoon-related disasters such as floods, landslides, and inundation.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Speaker Aryal directed the government to take effective measures to reduce potential human and physical losses due to natural disasters, and to engage in effective disaster preparedness, relief, and rescue operations.
With the start of this year’s monsoon season and the increasing risk of disasters like floods, landslides, and inundation, Speaker Aryal asked the government to ensure effective disaster preparedness, relief, and rescue operations, as well as smooth and safe transportation services.
During the parliamentary meeting, lawmakers raised questions about disasters and urged the government to take responsibility.
‘With the start of this year’s monsoon season, the risk of disasters like floods, landslides, and inundation is increasing. To minimize the potential human and physical losses due to such incidents, I draw the attention of the Government of Nepal to ensure effective disaster preparedness, relief, and rescue operations, as well as smooth and safe transportation services,’ Speaker Aryal said.
He also asked the government to ensure the safety of citizens during disasters and to maintain uninterrupted and safe transportation services.
