Nepal’s Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) has accused Prime Minister Balen Shah and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Ravi Lamichhane of violating parliamentary rules by entering the House of Representatives meeting.
CPN-UML lawmaker Aien Mahar alleged that Prime Minister Shah and Chairman Lamichhane breached Rule 20, Section 6 of the House of Representatives’ regulations, which prohibits walking between the Speaker’s seat and the member speaking.
‘According to Rule 20, Section 6 of the House of Representatives’ regulations, one should not walk between the Speaker’s seat and the member speaking,’ Mahar said, ‘However, ironically, Honorable Khushbu Oli was speaking. Respected Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling party breached this rule and walked, so I would like to draw the attention of the Honorable Speaker to this and also request a ruling.’
Prime Minister Shah and Chairman Lamichhane entered the meeting while RSP lawmaker Khushbu Oli was speaking.
