A landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has blocked the Mid-Hill Highway in Baglung, disrupting transportation services to various districts in western Nepal.

The landslide occurred at Inarpani in Kathikhola rural municipality-6, blocking the Baglung-Burtibang section of the highway. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Twati, the landslide was caused by heavy rainfall that started on Sunday.

As a result, vehicles traveling to Pokhara and Kathmandu have been stranded. Similarly, passenger buses from Kathmandu to Baglung’s Burtibang, Rolpa, Rukum, and Dolpa have also been affected.

Deputy Superintendent Twati stated that the road is blocked by a massive landslide and large boulders, which may take some time to clear. ‘A massive landslide has occurred on the road, and it cannot be opened immediately. However, efforts are being made to clear the road,’ he said.
