Ganesh Parajuli, the deputy leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s parliamentary party, emphasized the importance of respecting the court.

During the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on Tuesday, Parajuli stated that each of the three branches of government – the executive, legislative, and judiciary – has its own jurisdiction, and the court should be respected.

Referring to the case filed in the Special Court on Ashar 8 regarding the passport scandal, Parajuli argued that the committee should not delve too deeply into the matter, as it is already under consideration in court.

‘Corruption is the country’s main problem, and reforming the system is necessary to eradicate it. However, discussing a matter that is already in court may hinder the actual goal of achieving justice,’ he said.

Parajuli expressed his trust in the judiciary to fulfill its responsibilities.

He also recalled the irregularities in the Airbus procurement case and the water supply project contract process, expressing concern that Nepal’s public procurement and contract processes have not been free from corruption.
