A 52-year-old man has been rescued from the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur, Nepal, after being stranded on an island in the river.

According to Prem Prakash Sigdel, Inspector of Armed Police Force No. 35 Shailleshwari, the rescue operation was carried out by a joint team of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police.

The rescued man, Umesh Chaulagain, from Chaurideurali village in Kavrepalanchok district, was stranded on the island near the Dodhara-Chandani bridge.

Inspector Sigdel said that the rescue team, which was undergoing disaster training in Devisthan, Dodhara-Chandani, and a team from the Area Police Office, worked together to rescue Chaulagain.

With the onset of the monsoon season, the water flow in the Mahakali River has increased, and Inspector Sigdel urged the public to exercise caution.
