Protest in Siraha After Boy’s Death, Health Centre Vandalised

A health centre in Siraha has been vandalised and a major highway blocked after a boy died due to alleged delay in treatment and lack of timely ambulance service.

The incident occurred in Bhagwanpur municipality where a boy named Roshan Mandal from Balan Bihul municipality in Saptari district was brought for treatment after being bitten by a snake.

Allegations of Delay in Treatment

Locals have alleged that the boy died due to delay in treatment and lack of timely ambulance service. They claim that the ambulance driver was told by the municipality chairman, Ugr Narayan Yadav, that he could not operate the ambulance without his permission.

As a result, the boy’s relatives claim that he died on the way to the health centre.

Protest and Road Blockade

Angry locals have vandalised the health centre and blocked the Hulaki highway by burning tyres and placing logs on the road. The blockade has affected traffic services in the area.

Locals had agreed to hold talks with the municipality chairman at 11 am, but the protest intensified after he failed to show up.

Police Deployment

The situation is being brought under control with the deployment of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force in the area.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bahadur Pal of Siraha District Police Office said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
