A woman has died in a road accident in Mechinagar, Jhapa. The accident occurred when a City Safari and a Division Forest Office vehicle collided on the inner road of Mechinagar-15, Kali Kasthan.
The City Safari, with license plate number Pr. 1-01-002 Ha 7805, was heading towards Bhadrapur from Kankadbhitta, while the Division Forest Office vehicle, with license plate number Pr. 01-002 Ja 7360, was coming from the opposite direction.
According to the District Police Office, 40-year-old Arti Uraw of Mechinagar-15, who was traveling in the City Safari, died in the accident. She was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Bhadrapur for treatment, where she was declared dead by the doctors.
The drivers of both vehicles, 54-year-old Leela Shrestha of Bhadrapur Municipality-10 and 45-year-old Gambhir Prasad Bantara of Mechinagar-6, have been taken into custody by the police. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to police.
