US: Indian National Attacked 15 Times with Hammer Over Religion

An Indian national was attacked with a hammer 15 times in the US state of Utah, reportedly due to his religious beliefs.

The incident occurred on Monday at a mall in West Valley City, where the victim, Syed Sohailuddin, worked.

According to reports, the attacker, Peter Michael Larsen, asked the victim about his religion before the assault.

Larsen has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The victim was seriously injured and underwent surgery at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, the Indian Consulate in San Francisco expressed deep concern over the incident and stated that it was in touch with the victim’s family and local authorities.

The consulate also offered assistance to the victim and his family.
