Three members of the same family have been arrested in Dhanusha on charges of forgery and cheating, according to the District Police Office. Gopal Sah, 53, his wife Rekha Sah, 48, and their son Hareram Sah, 32, were taken into custody for allegedly forging land deeds and cheating a local resident out of millions of rupees.

The police said that Gopal Sah was arrested from a hotel in Janakpur, while his wife was arrested from a border point in Nagarain, and their son was arrested from Kathmandu. The arrests were made in connection with a complaint filed by Govind Kumar Sah, a resident of Janakpur, who alleged that the family had cheated him out of Rs 4 crore.

According to the police, Govind Sah had mortgaged his land to Gopal Sah to secure a loan of Rs 99 lakh. However, Gopal Sah and his family members allegedly forged the land deed and used it to secure a loan of Rs 4 crore from a bank without the knowledge of the landowner.

Police Recover Forged Documents

The police said that they recovered 50 land deeds, 18 citizenship certificates, a laptop, and various other documents and maps from the residence of Gopal Sah in Janakpur. The police are currently investigating the case and have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests.
