A teachers’ union in Nepal has called for the removal of a song from the movie ‘Masternee’, citing its lyrics as indecent and targeting female teachers.
The Nepal Teachers’ Union drew attention to the promotional song of ‘Masternee’, stating that the words used are indecent and disrespectful towards teachers and the teaching profession.
According to a statement released by the union’s president, Laxmikishor Suvedi, and general secretary, Tulabahadur Thapa, the song has made a serious attack on teachers and the teaching profession.
The union has warned the producers of the movie to immediately stop the song and refrain from using it in the film, cautioning that if the song continues to be promoted, it will create an uncomfortable situation, and the producers and related artists will be held responsible.
The union’s statement was released on Ashar 29, 2083.
