Student protesters in Patna, the capital of Bihar, took to the streets on Wednesday in solidarity with the ongoing student protests in Delhi.

The protest, called by the All India Students’ Association (AISA), saw participation from students of other organizations as well.

The protesters began their march from Gate Number 10 of Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, intending to head towards the Raj Bhavan.

However, they were stopped by the police near the JP Golumbar in Gandhi Maidan.

According to BBC video journalist Shah Nawaz Ahmed, the police used two tear gas shells on the protesters.

There are allegations that the protesters also pelted stones at the police.

Despite the police action, the protesters were not deterred and continued their march, reaching the Dak Bungalow Chauraha.

Throughout the protest, the students chanted slogans, including ‘Godi media go back’.

Several journalists were injured during the protest.
