Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has expressed his objection to the ongoing debate about new and old political parties.
Addressing a program in Kathmandu, Oli stated that the concept of new and old parties is misleading and is being used to create divisions. He drew a comparison with the United States, saying, ‘What parties are there in America? Aren’t they the Democratic and Republican parties? Parties are not old or new. Parties are subject to change, and that’s what they are doing.’
Oli emphasized that parties in Nepal are recognized and acknowledged by the people, and the labels of ‘new’ and ‘old’ are unnecessary. He warned that such divisions could lead to conflicts within families and society as a whole.
