Nepali Congress Ministers Refuse to Resign in Lumbini Province

Nepali Congress ministers in the Lumbini Province government have refused to resign immediately, despite the party’s central committee deciding to end its power-sharing agreement with the CPN-UML.

According to Lumbini Province Finance Minister Dhanendra Karki, the ministers will not resign until they receive clear instructions from the party’s central leadership and assess the political situation in other provinces.

‘We are unlikely to resign immediately. We need to consider the situation in other provinces and wait for clear instructions from the party’s central leadership,’ Karki said.

The Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Lumbini Province, led by Dil Bahadur Chaudhary, had earlier decided not to make any immediate decisions on withdrawing support from the UML-led government or recalling its ministers.

The party’s ministers in the Lumbini Province government will wait for further instructions from the party’s central leadership before making any decisions.
