The Nepalese government has ordered the termination of contract employees who have reached retirement age or are receiving retirement benefits from any government service.

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration issued a seven-point circular to all government agencies, directing them to terminate contract employees who have not been reassigned to another position.

Contract Employees to be Reassigned

According to the circular, contract employees who are currently working will be reassigned to other positions within the same agency or to other agencies that require their services.

The Ministry of General Administration will provide guidance on the reassignment of contract employees and ensure that they are utilized efficiently.

Provisions for Contract Employees

The circular also states that contract employees who are not reassigned to other positions will be provided with necessary facilities and services.

The Ministry of General Administration will conduct a study within a month to determine the minimum service facilities that should be provided to contract employees and make recommendations accordingly.

The decision to terminate contract employees was made by the Council of Ministers on Ashar 32, 2083, following the Organization and Management Survey.
