The government has given approval to the Nepal Rastra Bank to mint new designs for 1 and 2 rupee coins. The decision was made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday.
According to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Vikram Thapa, the new coins will be designed and minted by the Nepal Rastra Bank.
The exact design and features of the new coins have not been disclosed yet. However, it is expected that the new coins will have updated security features and designs to prevent counterfeiting.
The Nepal Rastra Bank is responsible for the production and distribution of currency in Nepal. The bank has been working to upgrade the security features of the country’s currency to prevent counterfeiting and ensure the integrity of the financial system.
