Renowned medical education reform activist Prof Dr Govinda KC has warned of staging a fresh protest, demanding that the government free medical education and health services from commercial interests.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, Dr KC urged the government to take immediate action to address his demands.
Dr KC has been a vocal critic of the commercialisation of medical education and health services in Nepal, and has been leading a crusade to reform the sector.
His demands include stricter regulations on medical colleges and hospitals, and an end to the practice of charging exorbitant fees for medical education and health services.
Dr KC has been on several hunger strikes in the past to press for his demands, and his warnings of fresh protests have put pressure on the government to take action.
