Vivek Mandal Dies After Attempting Self-Immolation in Sarlahi

Vivek Mandal, a 34-year-old resident of Sisoutiya in Godaita Municipality-10, Sarlahi, has died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu after attempting self-immolation.

Mandal was airlifted to Kathmandu on Friday for further treatment and was being treated at the Kirtipur-based Burn Hospital, where he passed away at 2:05 am today.

According to the hospital administration, Mandal had set himself on fire on the road after leaving his house on Thursday afternoon, using petrol to ignite the flames.

This incident is not an isolated one, as two other individuals, Ganesh Nepali and Ashwin Raut, have also lost their lives after attempting self-immolation in the past.
