In Fafkofthum rural municipality 5, a young entrepreneur has achieved significant income through multi-farming practices. Pithakote has cultivated cardamom on 25 ropanis, tea on 9 ropanis, and kiwi on 7 ropanis, earning a satisfactory income.
His Khadkudde Multipurpose Agriculture Farm produces around 35 quintals of kiwi, 15 man cardamom, and 1,000 kilograms of tea annually. ‘After engaging in agriculture, my future has been secured,’ Pithakote said. ‘The sweat I have invested in agriculture has made my dreams come true.’
He has saved around 2 million rupees annually and provided employment to 15 people on his farm. In the future, Pithakote plans to increase the value of his kiwi production by manufacturing juice, jam, and wine, as well as processing cardamom using a modern oven.
‘There is no storage space for kiwi. I plan to build a modern oven to process cardamom. I am not discouraged by the lack of infrastructure,’ he said.
As a result of his engagement in agriculture, the rural municipality has provided him with 50% of the subsidy for agricultural equipment, according to rural municipality chairman Deependra Khanal.
