Remittance Inflow Reaches NPR 2.12 Trillion in 11 Months

Nepal has received a total of NPR 2.12 trillion (21,20,80,80,000,000) in remittances in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

According to the ‘Current Economic and Financial Situation Report’ based on the 11-month data released by the Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance inflows increased by 38.2% during the review period, reaching NPR 2.12 trillion.

The central bank reported that in the month of Jeth (May-June) alone, NPR 23.89 billion was received in remittances. In contrast, in the same month last year, the remittance inflow was NPR 17.63 billion.

In US dollar terms, remittance inflows increased by 29.6% to $14.59 billion during the review period. The Nepal Rastra Bank reported that in the previous year, remittance inflows had increased by 12.8%.
