Prakash Chandra Pariyar, spokesperson for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has stated that those who fear the truth are attempting to intimidate the press.
During a special session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Pariyar condemned the heinous attempt to intimidate the media by parking vehicles at the gates of leading media outlets in the country.
He mentioned that only those who fear the truth would engage in such behavior, adding that trying to hide the truth is like trying to cover the sun with a palm.
Pariyar emphasized that the RSP is in favor of full press freedom and supports the protection of journalists, stating that the party does not want to witness any form of tragedy or anarchy against the press, even if they are in power.
He also recalled how the press did not back down during the autocratic rule of Gyanendra Shah, and that it was not intimidated by the presence of a few vehicles on the streets.
