The Armed Police Force, Nepal, has seized Indian currency worth INR 5 million at the Jamunaha border in Nepalgunj.
The seizure was made during a regular check by the Armed Police Force, Nepal, Border Security Group, Jamunaha, in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-15, Jamunaha area.
The seized Indian currency, worth INR 5 million, will be handed over to the customs office in Bank today, according to the Armed Police Force, Nepal, Border Security Group, Jamunaha.
According to Police Inspector Tirtha Nyoupande, the money was found hidden in a rickshaw carrying goods from India to Nepal, but the owner of the money could not be identified.
The Armed Police Force, No. 5, Vindhya Vasini Battalion, has increased security surveillance in the border area to prevent illegal activities, under the command of DIG Deepak Adhikari.
The Armed Police Force has stated that it is operating aggressively to control border crimes, prevent smuggling, and stop illegal trade.
Currently, checks have been intensified in various border areas, including Jamunaha, in Bank, and surveillance has been increased on individuals involved in illegal trade.
