According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours was recorded in the Narayani area of Chitwan district.

A study conducted at 335 rainfall measurement centers across the country from Sunday morning to Monday morning showed that 243 centers received rainfall, including 45 manual and 290 automatic centers.

Details show that the highest rainfall of 319.8 millimeters was recorded at the Narayani Field Office center in Chitwan district. More than 200 millimeters of rainfall were also recorded at three other centers in the surrounding area, while 23 centers across the country received more than 100 millimeters of rainfall.

Due to heavy rainfall, areas around Bharatpur in Chitwan are currently flooded.

Meanwhile, disaster management expert Ujjwal Upadhyay said that the monsoon low-pressure line has been moving towards the central and eastern Tarai since Sunday night.

According to Upadhyay, the continuous rainfall in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding areas stopped since Sunday night, and today’s weather is expected to be relatively clear and warm compared to Sunday.

Upadhyay also stated that due to heavy rainfall, there is a high risk of flooding in areas around the Saptakoshi and Narayani rivers until noon today.
