A flash flood risk warning has been issued for 44 districts across the country today. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of a high risk of flash floods in 39 districts, including Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Udaypur, Sindhuli, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, and surrounding areas.
The department has also warned of a moderate risk of flash floods in 5 districts, including Gorkha, Lamjung, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Palpa, Parbat, Myagdi, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Dang, Salyan, Banke, Bardiya, and Kailali.
According to the department, there is a possibility of flash floods in small rivers in Chitwan, Tanahun, Kaski, Syangja, and Surkhet districts.
Hydrologist Vinod Parajuli has requested people to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of an increase in the flow of small rivers in all seven provinces on Wednesday and Thursday.
