Finance Committee Holds Talks with Nepal Insurance Authority

The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives held a meeting with the Nepal Insurance Authority at Singh Durbar today.

The meeting sought information about the major activities carried out by the Nepal Insurance Authority in the fiscal year 2082/83.

The committee discussed policy and operational issues related to the regulation of the insurance sector, efforts made to protect the interests of the insured and reduce the risks of insurance businesses, and the performance of insurance institutions and companies owned by the Government of Nepal over the past three years.

The committee also inquired about the initiatives taken by the Insurance Authority to improve the performance of these institutions.

Committee Secretary Laxman Aryal said that a detailed report of the discussions and concerns raised by the lawmakers during the meeting will be prepared and submitted to the committee within 10 days as per the direction of Committee Chairman Krishna Hari Budhathoki.
