The University Grants Commission has started determining the equivalence of higher education degrees.

According to Deputy Director Dularaj Chimoriya, the commission began the equivalence determination process on Wednesday.

Previously, Tribhuvan University and the Curriculum Development Center were responsible for determining equivalences.

Online Application Process

The commission has introduced an online application process for equivalence determination, which can be done from anywhere.

Applicants will receive an OTP on their mobile and email after submitting their application, and they do not need to physically visit the office.

This move aims to discourage applicants from physically visiting the office and to make the process more convenient.

Cluster-Based Evaluation

The commission has formed 11 clusters based on faculties and will evaluate equivalences through a team of experts.

Each cluster will have five experts, and their evaluation will be final.

The commission will issue certificates only after the experts have verified the applications.

Once the equivalence is determined, students can print their certificates themselves.

Handover of Documents

Tribhuvan University has handed over the necessary documents for equivalence determination to the commission.

The commission is working on transferring the remaining documents, and the process is ongoing.

The commission and Tribhuvan University have coordinated to ensure a smooth transition of the equivalence determination process.
