The Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) parliamentary group has strongly condemned the attack on Member of Parliament Ganesh Paudel, who was elected from Rautahat Constituency No. 4.
In a statement released today by the party’s chief whip, Kavindra Burlakoti, the party expressed its serious concern over the incident, which occurred on Ashar 7, 2083, while Paudel was returning from a meeting with the public.
The statement emphasized that while the right to express dissent and opposition is guaranteed in a democratic system, violence, mistreatment, or disrespectful behavior towards people’s representatives is unacceptable in any democratic society.
The RSP believes that such activities undermine the rule of law, democratic values, and peaceful and civilized political practices.
The party has demanded that the government and relevant agencies conduct a fair investigation into the incident, take stern action against those involved, make the facts of the incident public, and ensure the safety of people’s representatives to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
The parliamentary group has also reaffirmed its commitment to democratic values, the rule of law, non-violent political practices, and the building of a civilized society.
