Indian police have detained several opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, during a protest outside the prime minister’s residence in New Delhi.

The protest, led by the Congress party, was demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The demonstrators also called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take moral responsibility and step down.

Protest Continues

The Janata Dal (United) party has been staging a protest at Jantar Mantar, also demanding the resignation of the education minister. On Tuesday, Congress MPs, led by Rahul Gandhi, staged a sit-in outside the prime minister’s official residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

The protesters alleged that the police mistreated Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi and did not provide information on where they were being taken. Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh met with Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders at the protest site.

After the meeting, Singh shared his views on social media platform ‘X’. The Congress party has warned that it will continue the protest until students and youth get justice.
