A special court in Nepal has released former Finance Minister Vishnu Paudel on bail, citing four grounds and reasons for doing so.

The court, comprising members Narayan Prasad Paudel, Diliratna Shrestha, and Vidur Koirala, made the decision on Friday, allowing Paudel to be released on a regular bail.

Paudel was accused of misusing his position as a minister to benefit a businessman and hiding illegal wealth. The case against him involved a claim of Rs 209 million.

The court’s decision comes after Paudel was taken into custody on Ashar 28, 2083.
