Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that all three tiers of government must take responsibility for managing human-wildlife conflict and reducing its impact.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by the party’s policy institute at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa, Thapa emphasized the need for a clear plan of action to address the issue.

He announced that the party would prepare a detailed plan and send it to the provincial and local governments, ensuring its implementation would not be a problem given the party’s leadership and representation in these governments.

Thapa also stressed the importance of quality forest conservation in reducing human-wildlife conflict and providing relief and compensation to affected citizens.

He expressed concern that despite the severity of the issue, it often fails to receive adequate attention from political parties, which tend to focus on more prominent political issues.
