Nepal has suffered its second consecutive loss in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 triangular series, losing to the Netherlands by six wickets.
The home team, Netherlands, achieved Nepal’s target of 158 runs in 44.1 overs, losing four wickets in the process.
Netherlands captain Scott Edwards played a crucial role in the team’s victory, scoring an unbeaten 61 runs off 89 balls, including two fours and a six. Noah Croes also contributed with an unbeaten 34 runs, while Cedric de Lange and Jach Leemkamp scored 21 runs each.
For Nepal, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal had been bowled out for 157 runs in 44.4 overs after losing the toss and being put to bat first at the Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd. Aarif Sheikh was the top scorer for Nepal with 41 runs, including four fours, off 90 balls.
Gulsan Jha scored 29 runs off 42 balls, including two sixes and a four, while Dipendra Singh Airee scored 21 runs, Aasif Sheikh scored 14 runs, Karan KC scored an unbeaten 13 runs, and Sompal Kami scored 10 runs.
Netherlands bowlers Alex Roe and Roelof van der Merwe took three wickets each, while Logan van Beek took two wickets and Klaas Klumper took one wicket.
With the win, Netherlands remains in third place in the points table with 34 points from 29 matches. Nepal is in fifth place with 24 points from 30 matches.
