Kylian Mbappe has become the first player in World Cup history to win the Golden Boot twice.
The French striker achieved this feat by scoring the most goals in the 2026 World Cup, surpassing Lionel Messi.
Mbappe, 27, scored 10 goals in eight matches, adding to his eight goals in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
He is the first player since Germany’s Gerd Muller in 1970 to score double-digit goals in a single World Cup.
Mbappe has also become the all-time leading scorer in men’s World Cup history, surpassing Miroslav Klose’s record of 21 goals.
He achieved this milestone by scoring 22 goals in the World Cup, one more than Klose’s record.
