Janakpur’s Encroached Ponds and Dils Given Seven Days to Vacate

Janakpur. The government has given a seven-day ultimatum to vacate the encroached structures in various ponds and their surrounding areas in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City.

The High-Level Task Force formed for the protection and management of Guthi land has issued a public notice, directing the removal of unauthorized structures and encroachments in ponds such as Vishwara Pokhari, Dashrath Talau, Argaja Sar, Ratna Sagar Pokhari, Murli Sar, Dirghika Sar, and Goddhoni Pokhari.

Encroachment and Unauthorized Structures

According to the committee, various individuals and organizations have been found to have constructed unauthorized structures and encroached upon the ponds and their surrounding areas.

The committee stated that the notice was issued with the objective of protecting public property and Guthi land.

If the encroachments are not removed within the specified time, action will be taken in accordance with the prevailing laws.

Ministry’s Efforts to Protect Guthi Land

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has expedited the implementation of the reports of previous commissions and task forces.

In this context, the ministry has stated that it has taken steps to protect the encroached Guthi land, ponds, and public property in the Janakpur area.
