Heavy rainfall has caused disruptions on various highways across Nepal, with landslides, rockfalls, and floods affecting traffic.
According to the Nepal Police, the Kanti Lokpath in Makwanpur was completely blocked after a landslide on Wednesday evening but has since been cleared and is now fully operational.
The BP Highway, which connects Kavre Palanchok and Sindhuli, has been closed to all vehicles from 6 pm to 4 am due to the risk of flooding. Similarly, the Kanti Lokpath in Makwanpur has also been closed to all vehicles from 5 pm to 5 am due to the risk of landslides.
In Ilam, the Mechi Highway has been completely blocked after a landslide in Rajduali, and commuters have been advised to use alternative routes.
In Argakhanchi, the road connecting Paniini Village Municipality-2 and Saljhandi-Dhorpatan has been completely blocked after a rockfall.
Additionally, the Arniko Highway in Sindhupalchok’s Bhotekoshi Village Municipality-4 has been blocked due to a landslide. The Nepal Police has stated that the road department and other agencies are working to clear the blocked roads.
