Continuous rainfall has caused flooding and landslides, blocking major highways across Nepal. As of 6:10 am on Ashar 4, 2083, several major roads in the Koshi and Bagmati provinces have been affected.

In the Koshi province, the Bhojpur Municipality-5 Bokhim area has been flooded, causing one-way traffic on the Mid-Hill Highway. The Mechi Highway in Ilam’s Rajdewal, the Mid-Hill Highway in Khotang’s Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi-6 Mamkh, and the Siddhicharan Highway in Udayapur’s Katari-11 Hardeni have been completely blocked due to landslides.

The Bagmati province has also been severely affected by flooding and landslides. In Kabhre’s Roshi Gaunpalika-9 Pinthali, the BP Highway has been completely blocked due to a landslide. The Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi section has been closed due to potential flooding. The Kantipath Highway, which connects Hetauda, Thingan, Bagmati, and Lalitpur, has also been closed due to potential flooding and landslides.

Similarly, the Arniko Highway in Sindhupalchok’s Bhotekoshi Gaunpalika-4 Jirokilo and Ward No. 2 Kodari has been completely blocked due to a landslide. The Prithvi Highway in Chitwan’s Ichchhakamana Gaunpalika-3 Fisling has also been completely blocked due to a landslide. The Benighat Rorang-10 Timarangkhani area in Dhading has been partially opened, but the Jowang Khola area remains completely blocked.

Efforts are being made to clear the blocked roads.
