Kathmandu. The government is preparing to extend the deadline for various construction projects that have failed to complete on time due to different reasons. The deadline extension will be up to one year.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has prepared to issue an executive order from the Council of Ministers for the special arrangement to extend the deadline.
The decision aims to provide relief to the contractors who have been facing difficulties in completing the projects on time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other reasons.
According to the ministry, the deadline extension will be applicable to the projects that have been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics, and other factors beyond the control of the contractors.
