Policemen have arrested four individuals from Kathmandu on charges of engaging in online gambling.
According to Pawan Kumar Bhatterai, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu District Police Complex, the suspects were arrested from Narayanchaur in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-1 along with internet servers, SIM cards, laptops, and mobile phones.
The arrested individuals include Tekendra Shahi from Kalikot, Vishwa Regmi from Bardiya, Ajay Mahatara, and Aditya Valmiki from Bank. They were found to have used various betting apps and websites to engage in online gambling.
It has been revealed that they carried out transactions worth Rs 1.96 crore, 3 thousand 5 hundred 19 through mobile banking. The police have stated that further investigations are underway.
