The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of a risk of flash floods in 31 districts, including the Kathmandu Valley, due to the increasing water level in small rivers.
According to the bulletin issued by the division on Sunday morning, the water level in major rivers such as Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, and Mahakali is below the warning level. However, the water level in small rivers such as Kamala, Babai, and Purbi and Paschim Rapti is increasing, and there is a risk of flash floods.
The division has warned that the water level in small rivers in Gorkha, Rupandehi, Arghakhanchi, Kapilvastu, and Dang may increase significantly, and there is a high risk of flash floods. Similarly, there is a moderate risk of flash floods in small rivers in Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, Sunsari, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Gulmi, Palpa, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Pyuthan, Banke, Bardiya, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, and Darchula.
The division has requested the people living in the riverine areas to take necessary precautions.
