A flash flood warning has been issued for 24 districts in Nepal, including Kathmandu, due to the risk of sudden flooding. According to the Flood Forecasting Section, there is a possibility of flooding in the rivers and streams surrounding these districts.
The warning states that ‘today, the water levels in small rivers in Taplejung, Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavre, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Palpa, Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang, Rukum West, Doti, Bajhang, Kailali, and Kanchanpur districts may rise significantly, posing a moderate risk of sudden flooding.’
