Dr KC’s Health Deteriorates, Doctors Suggest ICU Admission

Dr Govinda KC, who has been on a hunger strike for 24 days, is in a critical condition, according to doctors who examined him on Saturday.

Dr KC’s blood pressure was found to be 110/90 and his blood sugar level was 50, which is extremely low, said Dr Gajendra Duwal, a doctor at Seti Provincial Hospital who examined Dr KC at Krishna Mandir Dharmashala in Dhangadhi.

Doctors have suggested that Dr KC be immediately admitted to the ICU at Seti Provincial Hospital for treatment, but Dr KC has said he will think about it.

Dr KC has been on a hunger strike since Thursday, demanding the implementation of a five-point agreement, including the establishment of a 300-bed hospital at the Martyr Dasharath Chand Health Science University and the cancellation of the appointment of the vice-chancellor and registrar of the university.

According to Dr KC’s supporter, Amrit Jaisi, Dr KC’s health has deteriorated significantly, and he is having trouble speaking and walking due to muscle weakness.

Education Minister Sashmita Poudel has said that the government is ready to address Dr KC’s demands, and has formed a negotiation team to talk to Dr KC.

Minister Poudel had a phone conversation with Dr KC on Friday night, during which he assured Dr KC that the government is committed to addressing his demands.

Dr KC has also demanded that the government establish a medical college in the Far Western Region and start classes immediately.
