A car collided with a motorcycle in Gauriganj, Jhapa, resulting in the deaths of two people.
The accident occurred on the Hulaki Highway in Gauriganj-2, near Krishnakhol, when a car with license plate number Pr 1-02-002 Ch 5101 struck a motorcycle with license plate number BR38H 5547 traveling in the opposite direction.
Victims Identified
The victims were identified as 30-year-old Mohammad Nur Slam, the motorcycle driver, and 35-year-old NB Mojabbul Hak, who was riding pillion. Both were from Govindapur in Ratuwamai Municipality-5, Morang.
According to the police, the car was heading east when it collided with the motorcycle at around 1 pm on Friday. Slam, who was seriously injured in the accident, died at 2:40 pm while undergoing treatment at Dhamak Hospital in Jhapa. Hak died at 3:10 pm while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.
The police have taken the car driver, 35-year-old Vivek Singh from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-13, into custody, according to DSP Ranjan Awal of Jhapa District Police Office.
