Land Ownership Certificates Distributed to 34 Families in Ichchhakamana

Thirty-four households in Ichchhakamana received land ownership certificates, also known as Lalpurja, on Friday.

The certificates were distributed by Balbhadra Bastola, chair of the Land Problem Resolution Committee. On the occasion, he stated that if cooperation is received from all sides, all squatters will receive land ownership certificates within this term.

Bastola mentioned that the goal is to distribute land ownership certificates within 500 days. He emphasized that the support and cooperation of local governments, district-based land problem resolution committees, and the concerned parties are necessary for this.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, who is also the chair of the Chitwan Land Problem Resolution Committee, stated that all municipalities will be coordinated with to expedite the process, and land ownership certificates will be distributed immediately to those who have completed the process.

Aryal mentioned that mapping, registration, and certification work are ongoing in all municipalities. He stated that 42,000 applications have been received in the district.

Details of the Recipients

Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality Chair Dan Bahadur Gurung stated that among the recipients of land ownership certificates on Friday, four households are landless Dalits, and 30 households are landless squatters.

Gurung mentioned that 38 households in the same area have had their land ownership certificates prepared, but the distribution was delayed as the households were not present to receive the certificates.

Currently, there are 80 landless Dalit households, 771 landless squatter households, and 2,930 unmanaged settlements in the rural municipality.

The event was attended by Narayan Prasad Adhikari, chief of the Chitwan District Coordination Committee, and the ward chairs of all seven wards of Ichchhakamana.
