Sukuna School Suspends Three Staff Members Pending Investigation

Sukuna Secondary School in Sundarharaicha, Morang, has suspended three staff members following serious allegations involving teachers and employees, saying the decision was taken to facilitate an ongoing legal investigation.

According to the school, the suspension was approved during a joint meeting of the School Management Committee and the Teachers-Parents Association.

The suspended individuals are Accounts Officer and teacher Abiral Maskey, music instructor Kishor Lal Gacchadar, and school bus driver Pradip Bhattarai. The school said they will remain suspended until the investigation is completed.

The decision comes amid an ongoing police investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving students. Authorities have stated that the inquiry is continuing, while the school says it is cooperating with the investigation and has taken the administrative action to ensure the legal process proceeds without obstruction.

The allegations, which recently surfaced through statements and social media posts by current and former students, have drawn significant public attention and prompted calls for a thorough and impartial investigation. Police have not yet announced the outcome of the investigation, and no final determination regarding the allegations has been made.
