Kathmandu. The government had evicted the Sukumbasi settlement in Kathmandu Valley in the month of Baisakh and brought the displaced people and their belongings to the Dasarath Stadium in Tripureshwar.

After the Sukumbasi people were shifted to the holding centers, some of their belongings were left behind at the stadium. It has been over two months since then, and the belongings are still there.

The stadium’s staff said that most of the belongings have been damaged due to rain. Despite repeated requests to the Home Ministry and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to remove the belongings, no action has been taken.

The Sukumbasi people had been living in the riverbanks of Kathmandu Valley before they were evicted by the government.
