Students in Patna, the capital of Bihar, have held a protest rally in support of the ongoing student demonstrations in Delhi.

The protest, called by the All India Students Association (AISA), was attended by students from various organisations.

The protesters had planned to march from Gate Number 10 of Patna’s Gandhi Maidan to the Raj Bhavan, but were stopped by the police near the JP Golambar.

Police Action

The police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

According to BBC video journalist Shah Nawaz Ahmed, the police used tear gas at two locations.

The protesters also pelted stones at the police.

Despite the police action, the protesters were not stopped and continued to move forward, reaching the Dak Bungalow Square.

During the protest, the students chanted slogans, including ‘Godi Media Go Back’.

Journalists Injured

Several journalists were injured during the protest, according to a report by BBC Hindi News.

Some journalists were rescued from the crowd with the help of a few individuals.
