Smart Classrooms Launched at Vishwa Niketan School

Kathmandu. A ‘smart classroom’ and student scientific research skill development workshop have been launched at Vishwa Niketan Secondary School in Tripureshwar.

The program was initiated by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Huawei Nepal in collaboration with the school. The goal is to expand the use of digital technology in education and provide quality education to all students.

This program is expected to serve as a model project to expand the concept of smart education across Nepal. Under the program, schools outside the Kathmandu Valley will be connected to Vishwa Niketan through digital means.

Students and teachers will be able to participate in interactive science classes, exchange knowledge in real-time, and engage in collaborative activities. Huawei’s ‘Smart Classroom’ will provide students in remote areas with access to quality science education, digital learning materials, and collaborative activities.

Teachers from different schools will be able to share teaching experiences, partner on best practices, and conduct joint classes. Huawei Nepal’s ‘Smart Education’ concept aims to reduce the urban-rural educational gap, empower teachers through digital technology, and develop a data-driven education system.

ADB’s Senior Education Specialist Jeffrey Jian Shi stated that ADB is committed to creating an inclusive, progressive, and future-oriented education system for all students through innovation, collaboration, and the use of digital technology.

Huawei Nepal’s CEO Chester Chen said that a student’s future is determined not by their location, but by the opportunities they receive. The program aims to create an environment of collaboration and knowledge sharing between students and teachers across Nepal through technology.
