Preeti Jinta Expresses Concern Over Student Protests

Actress Preeti Jinta has expressed her concerns over the ongoing student protests at Jantar-Mantar.

She stated that some wrong people within and outside the country are trying to take advantage of the students’ anger and problems.

Jinta shared her concerns on social media platform X, saying, ‘While it is necessary for us to support our students and demand educational reforms that will make our youth’s future better, it is also necessary that the students’ peaceful protests are not used by anti-national elements to spread chaos and change the direction of the protests.’

The actress expressed her concern over the growing hatred and divisive environment online.

Jinta wrote on her post, ‘I have always believed in hard work, equality, and excellence, and I will never compromise with these values. I also believe in my democracy, law and order, and my government.’

She further wrote, ‘I sincerely hope that both sides will start a meaningful and good dialogue and keep all the wrong-minded people and issues at bay from this protest and the talks, so that our youth and our democracy have a bright future.’

This is not the first time Jinta has shown her support for the students. She had earlier appealed to environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, stating that his health was equally important in this fight.

On Monday, police had baton-charged the protesters during a rally, and also fired tear gas shells. Since then, many artists and celebrities have come out in support of the students’ protests.
