On the first Monday of the Nepali month of Shrawan, devotees flocked to Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, with the temple’s four gates opening at 3 am.
According to Tirtha Shrestha, member-secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund, arrangements have been made for the safe and convenient darshan of devotees.
The temple administration has ensured that devotees can have a smooth and hassle-free darshan experience, despite the challenges posed by the monsoon season.
The temple’s gates will remain open until 8 pm, with special puja services available from 8:30 am to 12 pm.
Four separate queues have been set up for devotees to enter the temple, and medical facilities are also available in case of emergencies.
Devotees have been visiting the temple since early morning, braving the rain and the crowds.
Similar scenes were witnessed at other Shiva temples in the Kathmandu Valley, including Gokarneshwar, Nageshwar, and Dolleshwar.
Across the country, devotees visited Shiva temples to offer prayers and perform puja on the first Monday of Shrawan.
