Health Minister Nisha Mehta has discussed the expansion of digital health services, effective implementation of telemedicine, and the creation of a national digital health system.
Minister Mehta met with a team led by Amar Khadka, chief of Badimalika Municipality, Manoj Khadka of Smart Health Global, and Sushil Lekhak, among others. They presented the findings and suggestions from ‘The Last Mile: Digital Health Conference 2083’.
During the meeting, the team emphasized the need to develop a national digital health system, prioritizing the expansion of digital health services at the local level, telemedicine expansion, integration of health information systems, legal and policy reforms, financial sustainability, and coordination between the three levels of government.
Minister Mehta views digital health as an important means of expanding access to health services for citizens. She stated that the government will study the suggestions from the conference and take necessary policy and institutional initiatives.
Furthermore, Minister Mehta expressed the government’s commitment to prioritizing the development of a secure, interoperable, equitable, and sustainable digital health system.
