Nepal’s stock market has made a positive start to the new fiscal year, with the Nepse index rising by 79.74 points to close at 2677.54 on Friday.

The market saw a significant increase in trading, with 335 companies’ shares being traded 58,940 times, resulting in a total transaction of over Rs 4.57 billion.

A total of 259 companies’ share prices increased, while 13 companies’ share prices fell, and two companies’ share prices remained stable.

The sub-indices of all 12 groups, except for the mutual fund group, saw an increase in their indices. The banking group saw an increase of 2.41%, while the development bank group saw an increase of 2.18%.

The hotel and tourism group saw an increase of 3.66%, and the hydropower group saw an increase of 4.58%. The life insurance group saw an increase of 2.74%, and the manufacturing and processing group saw an increase of 4.60%.

The microfinance group saw an increase of 1.80%, and the non-life insurance group saw an increase of 2.11%. The others group saw an increase of 2.77%, and the trade group saw an increase of 0.83%.

Shreenagar Agri Tech Industries Limited saw the highest gain of 15% in its share price, resulting in a positive circuit. On the other hand, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited saw a loss of 15% in its share price, resulting in a negative circuit.

Aankhukhola Jalvidhyut Limited saw the highest transaction amount of Rs 22.23 crore, and also had the highest number of shares traded, with 619,740 shares being traded. The company’s share price remained stable at Rs 363 per share.
