The Social Security Fund in Nepal has announced a new interest rate, effective from today. The decision was made during a meeting of the fund’s management committee on Ashar 23, 2083.
According to the new rate, contributors to the fund will receive an annual interest rate of 3.2% on their deposits under the Old Age Security Scheme and Institutional and Personal Savings Scheme.
Additionally, the fund will charge an annual interest rate of 4.7% on special loans, 5.5% on home loans, educational loans, and social loans, and 5.7% on Ghaderi loans.
A penalty interest rate of 1% per annum will be charged if the borrower fails to repay the loan on time.
